The times of World War II. This film is not about general or soldier. It’s about an ordinary woman Sughra. All the events in film are my relatives’ or familiars stories. That’s why as a director it has a great importance for me. Sughra lives in a mountain village with her 2 sons. Her husband is in a war and there are no news from him. And when they get a call to war for her elder son she is full of fear to lose her son in a war, as she lost her husband.
She is facing a very difficult choice. So she sends her son to mountains, where the men who are against the regime are hiding. The local representative of government Barat knows it and tries to make use of it. Sughra is facing war’s and imperialism’s heavy threats. The regime sends its soldiers to the village. In order to protect her junior son while seeing her elder son’s corpse Sughra pretends that she doesn't know him. Otherwise she and her junior son would be expelled.
