The film is based on the motifs of Anton Chekhov's famous play The 'Cherry Orchard' and is set in one of the regions. The story unfolds in a village where Shamil (Gurban Ismayilov) owns a large cherry orchard. Despite the interest of one of the affluent villagers, Kazim Abdullayev, in buying the orchard, Shamil refuses to sell. One of Shamil's sons has passed away, and the other, Gabil (Samimi Farhad) got married then, left for Russia without informing anyone, leaving his family, now under the care of his father.
Shamil now lives with his daughter-in-law Sara (Ilaha Huseynova) and his 11-12-year-old granddaughter Jalal (Hasan Aghayev). One day, unexpectedly, the son returns. He informs his father about his intentions to take his family to Russia, sells the cherry orchard, and takes the money with him. The reason for his sudden return is that he has another family in Russia, and he needs the money to rescue his daughter, who has been taken as a hostage due to his debts.
